The ECO·AIR® Family of Protective Packaging |
ECO·AIRÒ SAFETY PACKÔ
This invention enshrouds cargo in a bag of plastic, fiber mesh, anti-static or other material whereupon the opening end of the bag is pulled through an aperture near the center of a corrugated paperboard (cardboard) platform thereby holding the cargo firmly against the platform. The free ends of the bag are stapled to an edge of the cardboard platform.

The platform with attached "legs and sides" is usually folded into a modified "W" shape and inserted into a carton with the platform suspended on the "legs" an inch above the bottom and the cargo safely floated on top of the platform.

When the carton is dropped, in any orientation, most of the impact energy is absorbed either by the deflection of the platform or the stretching of the bag thereby protecting the cargo from damage.

ECO·AIRÒ FOLD PACKÔ
ECO·AIRÒ FOLD PACKÔ eliminates one entire step in the packaging line process, reducing assembly time up to thirty percent and reducing total packaging costs up to twenty percent !
In the ECO·AIRÒ FOLD PACKÔ, the cargo is inserted into a tube of plastic, fiber mesh, anti-static or other material whereupon each end of the tube is passed through an aperture near opposite edges of a corrugated paperboard platform. Pull the ends of the tube tightly and staple the ends to the edges of the platform. This floats the cargo safely on top of the support platform, as shown in Fig. A.

There is no need to place the protected cargo into a carton because this triangular or rectangular shape replaces the exterior carton, as shown in Fig. C. This patented packaging system has eliminated the packaging process step of inserting the protectively wrapped cargo into a carton. The system of shaped and scored exterior wall sections integrally created as part of the platform during the die cut operation reduces the total corrugated paperboard requirement by over twenty percent.
